US EXPLORES BULGARIAN TOURISM
Sofia Morning News (27 May 2004)
------------------------------------------
American tour operators are in Bulgaria to explore spa, rural
and eco tourism opportunities.
The 15 Americans from eight different companies will stay
in Bulgaria until Friday. Veliko Tarnovo, Arbanassi, Sandanski
and the Rila Monastery are the places they want to visit.
The businessmen are guided by the chairman of the American
Association on Tourism in Bulgaria, Stanimir Stankov. He pointed
out that in 2003 ten million Americans spent their vacation
in Europe.
Now Bulgaria apparently has the chance to attract some of
those US holiday-makers.
Meanwhile, Bulgaria is expecting around 130,000 Britons this
summer. This is 30 percent more than in 2003.
